Dr. JJ Chen's research focuses on optimizing horticultural crop production under challenging conditions. Their work investigates environmental effects on crop growth and physiology in harsh environments to determine optimal growing conditions with reduced resource inputs. Dr. Chen applies environmental sensing technologies and automated control systems to enhance sustainability and efficiency in crop production. Their research includes selecting stress-resilient plant species and cultivars for sustainable agriculture, and assessing how microbial inoculation promotes health and growth in horticultural crops. Through this integrated approach, Dr. Chen aims to develop innovative solutions for resilient and resource-efficient agricultural systems that can withstand increasingly unpredictable environmental conditions.
