Dr. Sun is an Associate Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering and Construction Management at California State University, Northridge. He has over 20 years of experience in structural engineering research, teaching, and professional practice. His research interests include innovative structural systems, sustainable construction, concrete additive manufacturing, and autonomous construction. Dr. Sun has served as Principal Investigator on more than 15 research projects supported by federal agencies and industry sponsors. He is the holder of a U.S. patent for a wind tower system and has co-authored over 50 peer-reviewed journal articles and conference papers.
