Dr. Krishnan Balakrishnan is a Data Environments and Safety Engineer at The MITRE Corporation. His areas of interest are simulation and modeling, networking, and autonomous decision making. Prior to MITRE, Krishnan was at OPNET Technologies analyzing and modeling the performance of applications and networks, and as an Assistant Professor at Georgia State University, performed research in applying queueing theory models to study failure and reconstitution in high-speed networks.

When he’s not having fun at work, Krishnan occupies his time with books on science and fantasy fiction, working on sustainable vegetable gardening in the backyard, playing Ultimate Frisbee and going on walks with their dog. Krishnan lives with his wife and two daughters in Potomac, MD.
