Dr. Hayley Brawley is a postdoctoral researcher with the U.S. Air Force's Clinical and Operational Space Medicine Consortium in San Antonio, TX. She holds a Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry from Texas A&M University and dual bachelor's degrees in Chemistry and Applied Mathematics from the University of Central Arkansas. Her research integrates analytical chemistry with space medicine, focusing on metal and vitamin homeostasis, decompression sickness, and pharmaceutical stability in extreme environments. Hayley has contributed to NASA's nutritional biochemistry initiatives and led studies on spaceflight-associated neuro-ocular syndrome and in situ health diagnostics. Outside the lab, she is passionate about youth STEM education, frequently mentoring students and judging national science competitions. A former volleyball coach, Hayley continues to stay active through running and recreational volleyball and is an enthusiastic sports fan. She is committed to inspiring the next generation of scientists through community engagement, mentorship, and promoting the accessibility of science for all.
