Dr. Disha Sardana is an interdisciplinary researcher with expertise in immersive data analytics. She earned her Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary Studies (Human-Centered Design) from Virginia Tech, focusing on interactive 3D data exploration systems using augmented reality and spatial audio. With over seven years of experience in data visualization, machine learning, and immersive tech, she has led research from conceptualization to completion, applying quantitative and qualitative methods to improve decision-making. Her work includes developing Augmented Reality (AR) applications for Earth observation and space weather data analysis.
An active contributor to NASA’s open science efforts, Dr. Sardana is an Open Science Ambassador for the TOPST Initiative, delivering virtual training and creating interactive learning materials. She also mentors undergraduates in NASA’s SARP, teaching scientific programming and data skills for Earth science research. Currently, as a Fellow at the Crucible Ignitor Program (NavalX and FedTech), she transforms lab technologies into innovative solutions for dual-use applications.
