John Dankanich is the NASA Capability Lead for In-Space Transportation and the previous NASA Marshall Space Flight Center Chief Technologist. In his role, he helps prioritize NASA investments in technologies to support future needs of NASA and the US Space Sector. He has served as the lead for Small Spacecraft Technology partnership investments at MSFC, which includes propulsion, power, communications, advanced thermal control systems and end-to-end validation and verification methods. Mr. Dankanich is a recognized subject matter expert in propulsion technology development, testing and mission design. His current focus is technology maturation from concept through flight for advanced propulsion, cryogenic fluid management and space nuclear propulsion.
