Dr. Kristen Scotti is a STEM librarian at Carnegie Mellon University Libraries; her research focuses on open research practices and the use of machine learning to support evidence synthesis. She holds a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from Northwestern University, where she conducted interdisciplinary research on materials processing in microgravity. At CMU, she also leads instructional initiatives that integrate AI literacy into coding. Her work bridges computational research, educational outreach, and public engagement, with a focus on the ethical and responsible use of emerging technologies in research and education.
