Sam Pedrotty is the Project Manager for the R5 spacecraft series, which is pioneering new approaches to minimize small spacecraft cost and schedule while also enabling complex capabilities like proximity operations.  Sam is also the Chief Engineer for the Safe and Precise Landing—Integrated Capability Evolution (SPLICE) project, which is focused on developing and demonstrating precision landing and hazard avoidance systems that enable safe and precise landing on the Moon and beyond.  Sam has worked on a variety of projects during his time at the Autonomous Flight Systems Branch at the NASA Johnson Space Center and is also interested in pushing the boundaries of vision-based navigation capabilities.
