Alan B. Shepard Chair Professor, University of Cincinnati

Ou Ma received his Ph.D. degree from McGill University in 1991. He is now the Alan B. Shepard Chair Professor at the University of Cincinnati (UC). His research interests are dynamics and control of spacecraft and robotic systems, artificial intelligence and heterogenous multi-agent intelligent control. Dr. Ma is currently directing the Intelligent Robotics and Autonomous Systems Lab at UC. From 2002 to 2017, Dr. Ma worked for the New Mexico State University where he held the title of Nakayama Professor and directed the Reduced-Graphics and Biomechanics Lab. Prior to that, Dr. Ma worked for MDA Space in Canada from 1991 to 2002, leading the efforts of modeling, simulation and experimental verification of the two space robotic systems SSRMS (Canadarm2) and SPDM. He also participated in the design of the Orbital Express manipulator.
